Ever Take the Cake?

Ever take the cake? I mean out of the oven before it’s ready? I was raised by great bakers. Just sayin. I have a protocol that I follow and it’s President’s Day but this needs longer in the oven. So President’s Day has to wait. I’ll let you know when it’s President’s Day again soon.

In the meantime, I have been working on Drift’s look after Hurricane Ian. She’s serving Marilyn.

So, gonna explain a few things.

I am still a film student while I am doing all this and it’s been really hard. Even though I won a scholarship using this medium, I haven’t fully found my art tribe yet. I’m the only one doing it the way that I am — so right now I’m nurturing that. Building it. If you’re here reading this, you might be part of it.

I want to explain also, there’s a randomness to this series for a reason. It’s because I have to be very strategic about what artwork and what specifics I show. Why? Because when my film as a whole is ready — you won’t have seen it before in the form I submit to the Academy.

That’s the plan. That’s always been the plan. So everything you see in this series is intentional — fragments, moods, glimpses. Never the whole picture. Not yet.

This has been a long road so far but I’m not about to bail.

I am doing limited runs of my series while I am building. That is to show you the medium. Also, to keep the momentum of what’s new.

Right now — The Last Man Standing has some really challenging scenes I am problem solving. The cake is still in the oven. But the kitchen smells good.
